Hailey, the teenager, suspected she was being stalked because every time she tuned around, she thought she saw a man jump into the shadows.
The suspected stalker was walking around the house every day, but when she spotted him, he would walk across the road like nothing happened. The next night, she saw him. He had long hair, a black outfit and dark glasses. Hailey stood up and went out to confront him, but when she got out, he disappeared. Hailey got scared so she ran inside.
Hailey couldn’t sleep but Sunny, her dog, comforted her. The next morning, Hailey shivered while looking at her surroundings. She looked out the window making sure no one was watching her. Throughout the day, Hailey saw no one. The next day she saw him again.
Of course, no one believed Hailey. Her brother thought she was telling tales. Her sister didn’t even hear what she was saying. Only Rebecca, her friend, believed her. That summer holiday, they often saw the stalker standing in the bushes while Hailey and Rebecca ate their lunch. He stood so still like a vast oak tree, staring into people’s souls or stalking people at night when everyone was asleep.
Hailey and Rebecca heard people up and down the street complaining about crunchy footsteps at night and strange footmarks on the road making cars slip. Everyone had a story.
At night Hailey and Rebecca went investigating for the stalker, but it was a misty night so they couldn’t see very well. Hailey and Rebecca went their separate ways home and planned to go again the next day. The next warm morning, wars started, and everyone was forced to stay inside. The stalker never came during wars, Hailey and Rebecca just thought he was scared.
A few years later, wars ended, and the stalker still never came. Hailey and Rebecca went to the library to find out who he was. It turned out his name was Billy Bob; he was a famous stalker and murderer. The following months, it turned out he never came back so Hailey and Rebecca got comfortable and started taking Sunny and Daisy, their dogs, on walks together again. Hailey and Rebecca saw each other every day and arranged play dates for Sunny and Daisy.
A few years later, they got famous for the past and now they live a normal life.
