There once was a lucky girl named Elliot who lived in a rich neighbourhood in Hawaii. One warm morning, she woke up and began the amble to the park but her dad warned her, “beware of the pond monster!” So she walked and she walked, clippity-clop clippity-clop, in her heels until she came to the park where she stood at the pond.
The first time she looked into the pond, she saw dead fish float to the top. The second time she looked into the pond, she heard suspicious sloppy sounds. The third time she looked into the pond, she saw a surprising pile of gold at the bottom of the pond!
Instantly, Elliot reached into the pond and took not one, not two, not three, not four, but five gold bricks that shined brighter than the sun! However there was something else in the pond and it wasn’t a fish! It was something very slimy. Something big! It was the pond monster – with teeth as long and sharp as a saber tooth, eyes as round as oranges and large feet like a divers flippers! It speedily swam towards her and suddenly pulled her into the pond!
Elliot screamed at the top of her lungs as she was pulled into the pond. She slapped its hand off of her and she managed to drag herself out of the pond. She ran and she ran clippity-clop, clippity-clop, clippity-clop, clippity-clop, with the pond monster sliding and slithering behind her, its slimy hand splattering all over the place. Just then she saw a bus at the bus stop and she ran at full speed towards the bus! The bus doors began closing! She slipped in just in the nick of time. The bus began moving and she sat down in relief, peering out the window watching the pond monster sadly walking back to its pond. Now, Elliot felt sorry for stealing the gold, she already had lots of money…
