Week 2 Information Report Writing
This week we discussed vocabulary found within our model text and then the students completed a mix and match vocabulary activity with a partner. The previous week we had viewed an image and generated language based on the image of a polar bear. This week we used this language to co constuct a spine poem. It can be viewed here The Polar Bear.
Home tasks for this week:
- Continue to listen to the Model text ‘Polar Bear – Ice Bear of the Arctic’ throughout the week to internalise.
- Read through the diary excepts of real life ice explorers (next week, we will dramatise life in the Arctic by putting on Arctic explorer hats)
- Optional: You may like to try to create your own spine poem. Choose an arctic creature, select 3 key features and brainstorm language like we did for the Polar Bear. Write a poem based on these 3 features.
- Optional: Draw an Arctic Fox with ‘Art for Kids Hub’. See video below. Or please draw any other Arctic inspired drawing. Bring in next workshop. If you like, I can add your creation to the website!
