Week 1 Information Report Writing
Students were given their very own Information Report Writing ‘Magpie Journal’. This is where they can collect technical language specific to report writing, vocabulary and other useful bits and bobs that will help them along the way. We used the Magpie journals to explore an image of polar bears generating vocabulary that will help us to create a spine poem the following week.
Here are some home tasks for this week:
- Listen to the Model text ‘Polar Bear – Ice Bear of the Arctic’ throughout the week to internalise –
- Watch the video clips below to become more familiar with the Arctic (next week, we will dramatise life in the Arctic by putting on Arctic explorer hats)
- Optional: Draw a polar bear with ‘Art for Kids Hub’. Bring in next workshop. If you like, I can add your creation to the website!
